A guide to wireless charging formats

Current as of 2026-10-27

Moving to wireless power involves more than just picking a pad; it is about matching the charger to your daily routine and your specific hardware.

What we check

How we organized these listings

We looked at the current landscape of wireless power to group these chargers by their speed, connection type, and where you use them.

Wattage and speed

We sorted these listings by power output, from standard 7.5W and 10W pads for overnight charging to 15W and 25W options for faster top-ups.

Mounting and grip

This set includes magnetic pads that snap into place, non-slip silicone mats for car dashboards, and wooden stands for a softer look on a desk.

Device compatibility

The listings are categorized by ecosystem, highlighting chargers specifically for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

Our marks

How each product gets its rating

Every wireless charging pad on this page shows a score built from the same three inputs, so you can compare them fairly.

Customer average comes first

When a pad has a public star average, that number drives most of the score.

Stored notes add a little

If we kept our own notes on a pad but it has no average, those notes still count for a small part.

Review count and stock shift it

More reviews nudge the score up slightly, very few pull it down, and pads that are often out of stock lose a bit.

Magnetic versus standard pads

Magnetic chargers, including MagSafe options, use a ring of magnets to pull the phone into the exact spot where the charging coils meet. This prevents the phone from vibrating out of place or failing to charge because it was set down slightly off-center.

Multi-device stations for travel and home

For those with multiple gadgets, 3-in-1 and foldable chargers allow you to power a phone, watch, and earbuds from a single wall outlet. These are particularly useful for travel, as they fold flat to fit in a bag and replace three separate cables.

Specialized surfaces and materials

Beyond plastic, this catalog includes chargers made of bamboo wood, silicone, and fabric. Non-slip silicone mats are specifically helpful in cars to keep the phone secure on the console while driving.
